Wyoming Immigration Laws

Effective July 1, 2025, driver's licenses and identification cards issued by other states to individuals who cannot demonstrate lawful presence in the United States are invalid in Wyoming. Driving with such a license is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a $750 fine.

Wyoming does not require employers to use E-Verify. Employers must complete federal Form I-9 for all new hires but are not compelled to participate in the E-Verify electronic verification system.

Wyoming does not provide in-state tuition rates or state financial aid to undocumented students, including DACA recipients. Policies may vary by individual institution.

Wyoming has taken an enforcement-cooperation posture with federal immigration authorities. The state enacted legislation requiring law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration enforcement agencies.
